Basic Raw Tartlettes

This past weekend I headed over the mountain to Asheville for some shopping, a massage, and to grab some groceries at their Whole Foods. ❀

Because it used to be Greenlife Grocery (but they merged with WF’s) they offer quite a bit of living foods in their deli case. I just couldn’t resist a raw apple tart – regardless of that fact that it was $3.99 for one small tart. It. was. delicious! And totally worth it. I hope to (one day) recreate it, but for now I’ll take some shortcuts when making raw tartlettes. Plus I’ve got an overflowing amount of Larabars I can play around with. πŸ™‚

Easy Raw Tartlettes

(Will need small or large tart pans, or you could sub muffin cups in a pinch, but your shape won’t be the same.)

  • Larabars or other raw bars
  • Fillings:
  • Raw pudding or two
  • Puree of fruit, honey, and coconut oil or butter
  • Applesauce + flaxseed meal + raisins + cinnamon
  • Chia gel (1 T. chia + 1/3 c. water or milk) – I usually add 1 T. cacao powder to this
  • Others!

Break the raw bars into pieces and press down into the tart pans.

Add fillings.

No dehydrating necessary! You could probably freeze them for a bit more firmness to your fillings; I haven’t tried this yet so I can’t say if it would work too great or not.

Feast!
