Recipe: Tahini Sauce

I love tahini. It’s like a savory version of peanut butter – what’s not to love? Usually I just use it in hummus, but I wanted to create some kind of dressing to use with salad or for dipping.
This simple tahini dressing is super easy to make and only requires 4 ingredients – though you can always spruce it up with some spices like cumin, coriander, or cayenne if you want a little more punch.

Tahini Sauce
  • 1/4 c. tahini
  • 2 T. lemon juice (juice of 1 lemon)
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 clove garlic

Blend together until smooth. Refrigerate (will thicken after refrigerating).

I used this as a sauce drizzled over an open-faced turkey and tomato sandwich, as a dip for some collard wraps, and as a salad dressing.

What are some of your favorite ways to use tahini? Do you have any baked recipes that incorporate it?

  5. I’ve actually never had tahini in my kitchen, or even *tried* it for that matter. Crazy but true. You’ve inspired me to pick up a bottle though. This sounds fabulous. πŸ˜€
